Just heard this song for the first time... Think it was Natalie Coles version, but unsure. The lyrics though.... just captured something.
Will try and find a version to stick up here for you to hear.
Goodbye, no use leading with our chins
This is where our story ends
Never lovers, ever friends
Goodbye, let our hearts call it a day
But before you walk away
I sincerely want to say
I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love
And in july a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health
But more than wealth
I wish you love
My breaking heart and I agree
That you and I could never be
So with my best
My very best
I set you free
I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love
I wish you love
I wish you love, love, love, love, love
I wish you love

Cool song - and is that a sunset or rise? Beautiful whatever it is. ec
Those lyrics are beautiful, in a hauntingly painful way. It means a parting and accepting of reality, but with grace and no bitterness, continuity. I may need to find this Natalie Cole song!
Beautiful picture as well (as always!).
Changed my mind - I've just heard a couple of other versions of the song, and I think I like Nancy Wilsons and Esther Phillips versions the most. Just very cool.
And yes Yours Truly, it does encompase the whole saying goodbye thing well.
The photo is a sunset. The last of my sunrises lacked the colour this one had.
A good but painfully expressive song. Loved the sunset picture. Vivid.
Oh wow, what powerful lyrics! (And what a great new picture of yourself!)
Cool song and cool pic. How's life these days, Missy?
There's an interesting version of the song on iTunes on the "Prime" soundtrack.
